Gordon

Brief

Gordon is a suburb within Sydney’s mid-north shore. Gordon is conveniently located in walking distance to public transport, shops, cafes and in a area that attracts families due to the the amenities and local schools. This 1413m2 home is part Kuringai council, and in a conservation area.

The brief; Real Living Interiors (RLI) was initially engaged, only to provide  internal and external colour design to the home owner.  Once arriving onsite, where the renovation was well underway,  over 15 tester pots were scattered across the dining room table, multiple colours painted in large squares over many areas of the home and a very confused client was very pleased to receive colour design support.

What started with only colour design, soon saw our services extend to ad hoc interior design and interior styling support.

With a passion to restore her lovely old Federation property the client had strong ideas on the interior design she wanted for her home and was relentless in her research.  The home was not to be branded “one style”, yet be a mix of elements of the Hamptons, French Provincial and a touch of Oriental furnishings, all the things she loved. Combined with working around the original architecture of the home, heirloom pieces of furniture coupled with a collection of artwork, it was RLI’s job to walk beside the client in times of doubt or confusion to find the best solution for what suited the client  and source furnishings, window treatments and back fill interior design and styling components where the client could not find the products that she sought to complete her home.

Real Living Interiors was approached by  Country Home Ideas to publish the home after the completion of the  renovation. More information on this project can be seen on the link to the right.
